Pharmaceutical chemistry is a discipline that deals with the designing, synthesis, identification, developing and analyzing New Chemical Entity {NCE}. This study helps to understand the action of drugs at molecular level. Modern approaches like quantitative structure activity relationship, computer aided drug design, high performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography, UV spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy etc. are used to study the chemical nature of drugs. The undergraduate students are allowed to carry out experiment individually in order to understand the nature and behavior of chemical reaction that drug molecules undergo.The department is well equipped with the necessary apparatus, instrument and equipments to train the undergraduate students in different chemical aspect of drugs like physical, analytical, organic, inorganic, biochemical, medicinal etc. Well qualified and experienced staff is the main highlight of this department.
